News Letter #1:
(1st Quarter 2014)
A very big Hello to; our clients, perspective clients, friends and interested readers.
Well yet another year is beginning to gain momentum as it flies by! Yes we are a quarter of the way through 2014. The seasons are showing signs of changing with evenings and early mornings having crispness to them. Autumn is on the way.
It was with relief that the rains arrived with the beginning of March. January and February had been very hot and dry, which often is the case in Kwa Zulu Natal, it is generally termed a mid-summer drought. The good rains that we are experiencing at the moment will really help with the winter fodder flow for many stock farmers.
RH Ranching Mbuzi Stud news:
The first three months of 2014 has seen our spring 2013 kids growing out well and with a good many of the ewe kids growing so well that they will be ready for the rams by the age of 6 to 7 months. This will mean that they will kid down for the first time at an average age of 12 months.
Our ewes have already started with the autumn kidding, and if these kids are a sign of what is to come, we are in for a very good crop of kids. We have had several of our early 2013 maiden ewe kid down for the first time and they are really acquitting themselves well with beautiful kids, excellent maternal instincts and ample rich milk!
